Angular monorepo with NX and managing separate/distributed deployments

At first, I thought submodules, but that looks like it might break Nx. Then I came across this issue on the Nx site. It seems like there are a couple of possible solutions. The meta solution looks promising, but I would have to test it to know for sure—worth some time to investigate, though.

I don't quite follow the question, but it sounds like you may find Nx Semver useful? Nx is built on the premise that a repo represents a platform with a shared version, but the Semver plugin allows more flexibility for a project in the repo to run in "independent mode."
