Should I use a bufferline plugin instead of tabpages?

I'm accustomed to using tabpages as if they were tabs in other editors, and the gt, gT, and gt mappings to navigate between tabs. I'm currently looking at barbar.nvim and bufferline.nvim and they both work with buffers rather than tabs.
