  Miryoku is an ergonomic, minimal, orthogonal, and universal keyboard layout.

Smaller keyboards are better since you don't have to move your hands/wrists as much and can keep your hands on the homerow (A-F / J-:). Having only the keys that your fingers can reach naturally instead uses some mental capacity to remember smaller keymaps with more key combinations (such as Miryoku, for instance), but after a short while it'll be muscle memory.
