Any good custom generators documentation?

As an example, I was able to intuit how to use the `attributes` variable in a .tt template file, but only by reading the source from the slim-rails project. I still haven't found any documentation about the available properties on that variable.

I'm playing around with inertia.js and was surprised to find no custom generators for the library. I set about making some myself, but found the available documentation rather lacking. I've managed to fumble my way through, mostly by reading source of plugins with custom generators and adapting from there. It's been a fun process, so I'm not complaining, but it sure would be nice to have some decent documentation to reference. Does anyone know of anywhere besides the one page in the RoR docs or rdoc.info where I could find a high level rundown of what it takes to build a generator?
