I tried to create some kind of randomized “wormlike” movement in Processing and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The question that I have is about the artifacts that you can see as some of the worms slow down. It can only be seen a few times (the most dramatic is the blue one in the middle at the end). I presume this is caused by the fact that as the worm slows down, the points being used as the vertices of the shape get closer and closer. My best guess is that the precision of a float isn’t enough and the points are being stored at a slightly “incorrect” place causing some points that are later in the order to be shown on the screen to be shown before, causing jagged edges. Even then, I don’t know if the result would be that dramatic. You can find the code here. PM/comment if you have any additional questions.
