It does indeed work: https://github.com/mc51/Test However, it's just a bit of a weird implementation: As you say, copying the url to the Markdown does the job by some background github magic. And to get the url, you need to create an Issue and upload your .mp4 file. I haven't seen an alternative to that, though. That means, there is no way to directly implement an .mp4 file in the README.md from other sources. For example, you cannot refer to a .mp4 file in the repo itself. Feels sub-optimal for my use case, where I want to show a usage demo of my program as a .mp4 instead of .gif (where referring to a file inside the repo works).
