but I would like to be able to do it within the React Navigation package. I was able to implement by rolling my own from this package: https://github.com/satya164/react-native-tab-view, but the performance was very inconsistent on Android, and for some reason I seem to get a complete re-render a few moments after I swiped on to each tab - causing the screen to reset its scroll position, and freeze and flicker momentarily, and nothing I attempted on the GitHub page regarding performance optimizations to fix it seemed to work.
