Add lsp's to neovim, guides or tips?

The kotlin language server that I am trying to use: (https://github.com/fwcd/kotlin-language-server) seems to be setup as a system wide server, (like you run it in a docker container) and just adding the executable to my path causes it to fail still

I have been trying to get LSPconfig to work (https://github.com/neovim/nvim-lspconfig) and I have not been able to add any language servers. I have looked at the 4 options that are listed as "installing language server automatically" however none of them support all the languages I need:
