I mostly use Python when programming, but now I wanted to create an Android app and therefore need to use Java (because of Android studio). My project consists of an app that downloads videos in mp3 format from a Youtube URL. While there are some libraries in Python that do just that (e.g. pytube, youtube-dll,...), I couldn't find any in Java. I know I could use a wrapper as a workaround, but I first would like to know if you know a better solution or alternative.
As you noted, youtubedl-android is just a wrapper for the youtube-dl Python library. You could read through the source for youtube-dl and re-write it in Java for a cleaner implementation.
You would still want to use an mp3 encoding library. javacpp is active and often recommended.
