So Google acts merely as a pipe/carrier. All data that touches Google is 100% encrypted on your device, client-side, and users are anonymized with unique user IDs. So in essence google doesn't know anything that passes through. They're merely the carrier, which carries encrypted data. You can verify this by checking Cryptee's open source code as well.
I'm somewhat nerdier and would use the tools I already use and store data on any free cloud using Cryptomator, kinda the same experience imho.
