Notion helped me turn my life around and it will always have a place in my heart. That said, my lifestyle changed in the last year and offline use became a necessity. I finally made the switch to Obsidian about a half year ago, and holy jumpin' I'm glad I did. Obsidian is offline by design, totally free, and you own your notes/data. The switch was a little painful at first (there's a notion-to-obsidian converter that makes it easier) but there's so much more functionality that leads to better writing/note taking/idea creation. It's worth it.
The only thing I've still needed notion for was project management, but with the recent additions of a Kanban Plugin and another plugin called Dataview (which allows for notion-like databases), I have no reason to continue using Notion. Also, the rate of development is insane. The (free) mobile app is releasing in a couple of weeks, and a notion-like WYSIWYG editor is the next upcoming milestone.
