  • TagSpaces

TagSpaces is an offline, open source, document manager with tagging support

  • I am looking for something like TagSpaces but inside ranger or inside terminal with vim keybindings.

  • TMSU

TMSU lets you tags your files and then access them through a nifty virtual filesystem from any other application.

  • Basically, you can mount a directory of your tags that contains soft links to all your tagged files. To do so... mkdir tag_directory tmsu mount tag_directory Then you can use ranger (or any file manager) to explore the directory, including seeing lists of all the files under a given tag. There's also cool stuff you can do with queries within the mounted directory and so get lists of all files with two or more specific tags, or all files that have tags A and B but don't have tag C, etc. See the Virtual filesystem section of their wiki. It takes a sec to get the hang of it, but once you do it's super easy to use it with ranger, dropping into the shell to create new queries, etc.
