  • Signal is much more clever in that the client always manages keys for you. But detecting MITM attacks is still up to the user, and Signal has actually made it harder over time to verify fingerprints. I proposed a one-tap one scan approach to Moxie years ago but instead they chose to hide the fingerprint verification status from title bar altogether (sued to be orange warning triangle), and they hid the E2EE verification system behind contact settings.
