MaterialFox-BigSur
Discontinued A cleaner, more refined userChrome.css theme for Firefox—forked from MaterialFox
Thank you for your help! I have loaded your buttons_background_round_radius.css file and so far it seem to do what I was looking for. I did not try out your other two files yet and I still want to go through the code in detail and check if it really works in the way I want it to.

I found another solution from te6-in/MaterialFox-BigSur that also works. It uses border-radius on a really special CSS selector, that I don't understand. But it works.
