Use Oh-My-Bash and Oh-My-Zsh with Powerline.
Devicons add glyphs that look like icons to the interface. Colors are used. Popup menus that show up as you type. Liniting. All of these exists. They don't need a mouse. Everything should be keyboard-centric.
Create a good ~/.vimrc file for Vim.
This old file I dug up showed that these mods were generated with a Vim plugin called tmuxline.vim, but this might be problematic.

Secondly, Ed Kolev's tmuxline.vim plugin was written back in the Raspberry Pi 2 days. We shouldn't need to use alternatives like vim-airline or tmuxline.vim to do the things that Powerline can do now. The Pi 4 can handle Powerline.
Finally, I want to change some of the key bindings. There are a couple of plugins that do this for navigating between the panes, and it is popular to remap the prefix sequence Ctrl+B to Ctrl+A. The first item is nice, but I've had some thoughts about how splits could be done. And I'm not particularly a fan of the the second item. I would recommend keeping it Ctrl+B.
