I want to share what I've recently learned about the whole fiasco because its really stupid and more people should know about this. There is a common misconception that only jp sku pixels have the necessary nfc chip to make felica work. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The ability to use the felica network is present in every pixel device but isn't enabled in google wallet by default for non jp pixels. There is a mega guide with a few methods of getting around this restriction (all at least partially requiring root. I've used solution 2 but requires play protect cat and mouse game).
