Experienced and passionate staff/senior software engineer/team lead with over 15 years of professional experience, specializing in backend development using Go, Ruby/Rails, and more recently, Elixir (I used to do all C.* languages as well).

Have become quite proficient in creating distributed, reasonably-sized services, data ingestion pipelines, and performing DevOps tasks, including building CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud services (AWS) with Terraform. Also quite solid in Docker, Linux, and platform engineering.

Check out a demo of my work at https://github.com/okulik/geo-ip-server. It’s a production-ready geolocation service written in Elixir that maps IP addresses to geo data. It imports big CSV files into a db, exposes HTTP endpoints, caches db queries, and is deployed on fly.io - all the good stuff.
