The popular Underscores starter theme seems to be dead, what to use instead?

Some time ago I found this: https://github.com/digitoimistodude/air-light. I mixed it with underscore's classic WP structure and been using it ever since.

I've been a fan, but it looks like they are trying hard to commercialize it now? Their site no longer (obviously) links to their github where it, and a free child theme are available (and appear up to date).
