You may want to look at different block blueprints at someplace like https://factorioblueprints.tech/ or https://factorioprints.com/ and either copy them directly or make your own based on them. Then just start like you would expect, make one block for copper mining, one for copper smelting, setup the trains and then just continue. If you need more of something later, just copy+paste the blocks and add more trains.
