Maybe not for the first few runs because you apparently only have like 3c to your name, but after selling a few essences, it's very worthwhile. It spawns you 3x more essence crystals which is 3x more profit. Considering that you can easily make a few chaos per crystal, it's so worthwhile that it's basically free.
