  • 2) Practice and learn outside of your schoolwork. Most of the CS major classes do a decent job of explaining concepts and giving you ways to practice, but just doing the schoolwork isn't enough. If you don't understand something, look it up and get a better explanation of it on youtube until you fully grasp the concept. And work on personal projects outside of what they give you so you can actually put the concepts to use. Building your own projects will teach you more than any textbook they assign you.
