  • xivanalysis

Automated performance analysis and suggestion platform for Final Fantasy XIV

  • Finally, if you're able to (and want to), you may want to considering getting ACT and setting up your character on FFLogs. You can set all your logs to Unlisted to keep them private, but the main reason I recommend logging is so you can put your logs into XIVAnalysis after uploading - it will give you a breakdown of what you did during the fight and offer advice on what you can do better. Even if you don't care that much about parse numbers the tips XIVA can be really helpful in terms of playing most effectively and seeing where you need to practice - and all of this will help even in casual content!

  • balance-static

    Rendered guide(s) at your fingertips

  • For learning your opener / rotations, I'd definitely check the guides at The Balance. They also have gearing guides (although those are usually focused towards endgame/BiS). There is new gear coming in literally three days though so I wouldn't worry too much about it until the new patch drops, then you can figure out what to get. Generally you will want some mix of capped tomestone (so whatever is purchasable with the new Comedy tomes coming in this patch), and melded crafted gear. Most of the premade gearsets linked on TB and elsewhere will also advise what food to use, and the openers and the like on TB will tell what pots. Again, with a new raid tier coming in literally three days the info is going to change a lot, very quickly, so until then I would focus mostly on learning and practicing your opener and rotation. A big part of endgame raiding is learning how to pull off and coordinate your 2-minute burst and raid buffs, and being able to play your job well is the most important aspect of it. Outside of a few actions you generally won't be using macros or anything automated since those don't accommodate for weaving and other nuances that you'll need to be able to do in Savage.
