TypeScript library for working with Palm OS PDB and PRC files

  • palm-pdb (github.com/jichu4n/palm-pdb) provides a JavaScript / TypeScript API for reading and writing Palm OS PDB and PRC files. While it doesn't directly communicate with a Palm OS device (i.e. HotSync), it can be used to parse PDB / PRC files backed up from a device, or to produce PDB / PRC files that can be synced to a device. It supports out-of-the-box the core PIM application formats (Memo Pad, Date Book, Address and To Do List), as well as PalmDOC documents. It also provides tools for implementing your own formats.

Sync Palm OS PIM databases with the SD card

  • This is awesome work Chuan! I have been using my little app (https://github.com/lxmx/pimsync) to get the PIM databases to and from the SD card and onto JPilot which reads them natively. Now with your library it will be possible to get other desktop sync scenarios working! Also you might find a similar Python library interesting: https://www.nkorth.com/palm/coldsync/ (scroll to python-palm) although I'm not sure what its capabilities are.
