Band together and either find or an alternative or make one! Peertube is an existing platform that's opensource. There are no secret algorithms, no major decision makers you'll have to fight,... it's completely in their hands. They could band together to pay for features like a donation plugin (aka no need for a patreon) just like Humble Bundle where donators can decide how much of the donation goes to the people hosting the website, how much goes to a charity, how much goes to the content creator, how much goes to the people involved in the content creation (individual people in credits), and so so so much more.
