He used a different arduino, but the gamecube 'data' goes to D2 on the nano. Colored wires may be different (mine are) and you need a multimeter to verify the wires. His video description has a link to a .hex file you flash the arduino with. I used xloader to flash the nano with the hex file (far easier than DVRDUDE or whatever).
