This robot is from the 1990s, so you may have some trouble with various things, including software compatibility, and possibly safety issues. Industrial robot arms like this don't accept G-code, they have their own robot languages, for ABB it's RAPID. You need something to convert the G-code. Robodx can do that, it's very expensive software, so if you have access to it, maybe keep trying. ABB's robotstudio with machining or 3D printing "power pac" plugins can also, but again your controller may be too old, I don't know. You can also search for less expensive converters, on Github for example there's this: DAguirreAg/GCode-to-ABB: A python implementation for transforming a GCode file to a ABB robot specific movements. but I don't know about the quality of it - doing the conversion is not a simple task, and some software will be better than others. You might get better answers to your questions at https://www.robot-forum.com or some other forum that specializes in industrial robot arms.
