Maybe not the same, but I'd recommend using Oil instead of Netrw, it's similar enough, but it's way better and allows filesystem manipulation as a buffer
I'm sure that can be fixed, take a look at mine. In my lazy.lua, I've got the configuration for Oil in the plugin declaration, some settings in my set.lua might have helped Oil to behave this way
