This is not accurate, I tested it myself and it works just fine. Graphene OS has great app compatibility, with the vast majority of problems being fixed by sandboxed google play services, and/or enabling exploit protection compatibility mode. I am aware, and figured Netflix specifically wouldn't work because of it not fully passing CTS profile match yet (and as I said, a solution is being worked on: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker/issues/1986 ).
