Can I make custom classes/subclasses for players? Kind of the determining favtor for me honestly.

  • Most systems are already made for you by the fantastic community and some of the game devs ( https://foundryvtt.com/packages/systems ). If the game system you choose to run isn't in foundry then there are tons of modules to modify how dice work, and even a few that allow you to create your own game system ( https://gitlab.com/rolnl/sandbox-system-builder/-/tree/master ). There's also an insane list of systems that aren't listed in Foundry's system that has been created, and can be found via discord or a google search. The community support for this VTT is beyond outstanding, and the discord is full of people answering the most obscure use case questions imaginable. It's rare for me to hear of a system/use case that can't be done here.
