An experimental tool for building console UI in Kotlin using the Jetpack Compose compiler/runtime (by JakeWharton)
The current version of the gtk-kt library, 1.0.0-alpha1, is using manually written bindings that will be replaced by the code generate by gir-kt, once the code generation part will be done.
What do you mean by "responsive"? Like in not answering on the issue tracker? If yes, the maintainer doesn't answer instantly, but he answers. This is is a good example: https://gitlab.com/gtk-kt/gtk-kt/-/issues/20
Out there there are already some open source projects trying to do this, but most of them are abandoned or in a very alpha stage. The most promising project so far seems to me git-kt. This project is trying to do something similar to what gtk-rs does for Rust, which is using GObject Introspection (GIR) files to generate Kotlin native bindings automatically.
No clue, but the binary of the example project is around 1.2MB.
Would be really cool if one day this could be made to work with the compose compiler, kinda like compose for web, mosaic (compose for TUI apps), or another project that I can't find right now but it was basically compose with one of Apple's UI frameworks
