This repo is an amazing read into what the latest best practices are for a new project and how you can best take advantage of proper folder structure, routing, API fetching and many other things. I would highly recommend reading through it and then try to find further resources on each subject/library.
FYI for 6. it usually means you have to set the fallback page to index.html on your host. Here's an azure static web apps issue referring to that problem https://github.com/Azure/static-web-apps/issues/702.
