We are a high school student software team creating an open-source task management app, back for our second IAmA after a rewrite! Let's chat about student software engineering, high school leadership, and of course, nerd out about productivity. Ask us anything!

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/IAmA

Our great sponsors
  • SurveyJS - Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • CondutionEngine

The thing that powers the magic that's Condution: https://github.com/Shabang-Systems/Condution.

  • Supabase looks so cool! We just used Firebase basically because it was easy and fitted what we need. A branch on our backend is currently working on modularizing our db system — separating DB providers from the API from the query system. We will probably add a Supabase provider (perhaps even as default!) when that’s merged

  • supabase

    The open source Firebase alternative.

  • If at all interested in exploring Firebase alternatives in the future, there's a SQL based alternative called Supabase (hosted Postgres instance with an auto generated API and user management system). It is in beta and free to use

  • SurveyJS

Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.

  • Ionic Framework

A powerful cross-platform UI toolkit for building native-quality iOS, Android, and Progressive Web Apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Yes, thanks to the Ionic Framework this rewrite is really based on making the app truly cross-platform and ridding of that web “smell” from native apps.

  • tasks

Bringing Astrid Tasks back from the dead

  • Also, tasks.org isn't cross-platform, it's only available on Android, AFAIK.

  • React

The library for web and native user interfaces.

  • Thanks! Yes, we use Ionic, Electron, React, and of course NodeJS.

  • Condution

    Tasks? Done. That was quick.

  • What is goosh?
