  • The Flatpak maintainers have not yet made a concrete decision on the matter which means that the VA-API H264 and H265 support is now disabled on the newer runtimes. OBS recently updated its Flatpak runtime, and hence its runtime no longer supports VA-API H264 and H265 encoding. OBS itself does not support AV1 encoding on Radeon 7000 series/Intel Arc on Linux yet either, which means that the Flatpak version of OBS 29 cannot do GPU encoding on Linux with AMD or Intel hardware, period.
