On windows, why would any C or C++ developer use Visual Studio Code instead of Visual Studio IDE?
I can use xmake + vscode-xmake plugin to develop c/c++ program. It's very lightweight. https://github.com/xmake-io/xmake-vscode

and https://github.com/xmake-io/xmake-vscode plugin will generate it automatically.

Edge DevTools for Visual Studio Code 1.4.0 - Improved Screencasting, Device Emulation and live, inline issue reporting
The extension is available for all major platforms from inside Visual Studio Code and on the marketplace. The source is also available on GitHub and we invite anyone to file issues you encounter. Some of the functionality is dependent on you having an installation of Microsoft Edge Canary (version 96) and you need to have Node/NPM installed on your machine.
