Why is there a pointer here?
Hi! I'm learning C through project based learning building a hash_table implementation. The linked folder has an implementation of hashing algorithm displayed in the link below. My question is why is there a pointer for `char\*`. Whats the use of it if its just a regular function iterating over the string?

What does a pointer to a pointer to a struct mean?
The above code snippet is taken from this github repo. In the second struct what does a pointer to a pointer to a type `ht_item` mean? I know what a pointer would do in this case but having a pointer to a pointer is not clicking anything in me. Please help

What I learned from making a DNS client in Rust
I made one too https://github.com/ccouzens/dns-packet
The differences:
I followed this guide rather than the RFCs https://github.com/EmilHernvall/dnsguide/blob/master/chapter...
Mine isn't as polished. The command line parsing and output is more thrown together.
I hardcoded the packet identifier (it's not production code, and I'm only looking up one at a time).
I didn't use any bit manipulation libraries. I can see they would help because DNS packets don't line up their information with the byte boundaries.
