Use web components for what they’re good at
Visual Studio Code has a set of web components designed for writing custom extension UIs that fit with the core VSCode UI - https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-webview-ui-toolkit - and explicitly mentions that being usable in multiple frameworks is one of the reasons for choosing web components as an implementation tech.
It ships React components that act as adaptors for them out of the box.

Nx Console gets Lit
In VSCode, this is very easy to achieve, thanks to the VSCode Webview UI Toolkit. It’s a set of web components, provided by Microsoft, that are designed to look good and be used in VSCode webviews.

VSCode Extensions New Project Release 0.1.0

Using CRA to build VSCode webview panels
I'm currently trying to figure out how to best use React to build webview panels for a VSCode extension. Using the hello-world-react-cra template provided by Microsoft, I've been able to get it working. I have a editor context menu item I can click, and it opens up a panel containing the React component I built.

New Here; Is this a real setting or API/extension for notes? (From VSCode Documentation)
Here's the original extension that inspired this example in the guidelines. It was built to showcase how to build an extension using both the VS Code API as well as the Webview UI Toolkit for VS Code: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-webview-ui-toolkit-samples/tree/main/default/notepad

VSCode Extensions New Project Release 0.1.0
I initially wanted to deploy the webview view layer as a standalone on github pages, and the vscode plugin part only contains bundles. vscode requires html strings as the entry point by default, which made things a bit complicated, but luckily I found the official example project hello-world-vite, which makes integrating our familiar technology stack a bit easier, and the project is modified from this template.
