vim-vinegar VS oil.nvim

I just recently got into the "plugin frenzy", and since I was already using netrw, I ignored all the tree-style options and just installed the tpope's vim-vinegar to extend it.

Netrw + vim-vinegar works for me. In conjunction with harpoon and a bufferline and maybe vim-eunuch, it works out pretty well

I think you might be looking for netrw (:Ex brings it up). It is the default file explorer and can be used in many cool ways. There are extensions for it, like (vim-vinegar, and :help netrw is your friend :)

Hijacking netrw to prevent disruptive "project drawer" style plugins as mentioned in the vim-vinegar readme is important to me.

ThePrimeagen suggests pv as the mapping to see the folder, but - comes from me being used to https://github.com/tpope/vim-vinegar some time ago. Choose your's to your liking.

Netrw, vim’s built in file explorer is pretty solid if you’re looking to understand the topology of a project. I really like the pattern of browsing the file tree in the window pane where the file will open. vim vinegar is a great plugin for refining the netrw experience and making it a little more seamless. Takes a minute to learn the keybindings, but I find it much lighter and less intrusive than nerd tree or it’s offshoots.

This one is for the vinegar workflow enjoyers. Netrw is good enough for my needs but it was missing a bit of *bling*. This plugins adds basic icon supports and custom keymappings.

I used netrw in the past but I switched to oil.nvim [1]. I highly recommend it. It lets you edit the your files and directories like a vim buffer. It also supports lsp rename which convenient.

Hey , i'm using oil.nvim, it does integrate LSP rename file, but currently if you code in js you must apply this pull request https://github.com/stevearc/oil.nvim/pull/248 to fix refactor js ,ts file. (warning: the author says this pull request doesn't work with all pattern maybe it will be updated in future )

File explorer: oil.nvim

Hello, i've tried Oil.nvim and liked it , but when people talk about it , in general questions about FileTrees and File Browsers people really swear by Oil.nvim and got me wondering,what am i missing?

A very nice plugin which I use whenever I have to edit/create multiple files is oil.nvim

For those that want this to replace `oil.nvim`, here are the keymaps I added to my config for it to behave the same as oil. The dash keymap will open `mini.files` in the current directory from the file you triggered the keymap. The `fe` keymap opens the `mini.files` at the root directory so you can use it like your file manager. I like that the location you leave the window when opening with `fe` is not affected by the location you leave the dash trigger. I hope that map makes sense. I use NvChad, so my mapping looks like this, but you should be able to use it in any distro or custom config.
