How do you remember which mark is which?
In addition to this, I also installed a plugin recently that shows the active marks on the line just before the line numbering. It is actually the most recent plugin I installed: https://github.com/kshenoy/vim-signature
-
Marks are silent; how to make them noisy?
I use vim-signature. Everytime I hit ma, it places an a on the left column. That instant visual feedback is helpful for me.
-
Marks list?
It's a plugin... But vim-signature ( https://github.com/kshenoy/vim-signature ) might be a good choice.
-
Best autocmd(or other event) for adding highlight to mark?

-
How do you navigate forwards and backwards between positions?
I think you mean vim-signature.
-
Can you place a mark of same letter in different places and cycle through them?
For example, placing the mark 'a' on lines 15,40,120,200 and then cycle through them as you keep calling on that mark 'a'. I've realized the main problem with how vim's native marks work is they are easily forgettable and delicate as you can easily override a previously set mark. I recently started using the plugin vim-signature and the ability to set symbol-markers in different locations and cycle through them is personally a game changer. I want to see if it's possible to do the same with letter keys, so calling on the mark 'q' will cycle through all the areas marked with it, rather than overriding and creating a new mark.

Why does vim.lsp.buf.definition open this window instead of taking me to the styles file (the same with tsserver and Volar)?
My solution is using telescope.nvim with lsp extension, and map the vim.lsp.buf.definition keybinding to telescope one https://github.com/nvim-telescope/telescope.nvim
What are some alternatives?
