This might not be exactly what you're looking for, but vim-sandwich provides the as text object, that goes to whatever surrounding you're in, whether it's quotes, parens, \begin{environment}...\end{environment} in TeX files, or whatever other sandwich recipes you have set up.

what vimL plugins are you still using?
vim-sandwich - nvim-surround looks good but is still relatively new and has some missing features compared to alternatives.

Can someone add vim-repeat capability to surround.nvim? I'm not the owner.
I'm not the owner of the surround.nvim plugin but I like it a lot. It includes both vim sandwich and vim surround variants. It lacks the vim-repeat capability for vim surround variant. If anyone of you has the time & knowledge then please go contribute this project. I like it a lot and I need the vim-repeat functionality.
