vim-highlightedyank VS vim-signature

Yesterday I discovered the YankTextPost autocommands-event and I get fairly excited. After having wondered how can I use it, I decided to write my own plugin for highlighting yanked text because it is a feature that I love. In-fact I have been using https://github.com/machakann/vim-highlightedyank for long time and I know that are other plugins around that serve for the same purpose.

I was not aware of this and used vim-highlightedyank instead. I tried vim.highlight.on_yank just now. It seems that the highlight persists after pasting and the timeout works incorrectly when making successive yanks within the timeout period. So vim-highlightedyank could be a better choice if you prefer a longer timeout.

Someone also mentioned vim-highlightedyank. After a yank, that yanked region is highlighted for a brief second. Also provides good visual feedback

There are plugins that show the marks in the sign column, like this one https://github.com/kshenoy/vim-signature.

the addon vim-signature will display the marks visually on the left side of the line

i couldn't find lua version of vim-signature. does it exist?

I use vim-signature. Everytime I hit ma, it places an a on the left column. That instant visual feedback is helpful for me.

It's a plugin... But vim-signature ( https://github.com/kshenoy/vim-signature ) might be a good choice.

For example, placing the mark 'a' on lines 15,40,120,200 and then cycle through them as you keep calling on that mark 'a'. I've realized the main problem with how vim's native marks work is they are easily forgettable and delicate as you can easily override a previously set mark. I recently started using the plugin vim-signature and the ability to set symbol-markers in different locations and cycle through them is personally a game changer. I want to see if it's possible to do the same with letter keys, so calling on the mark 'q' will cycle through all the areas marked with it, rather than overriding and creating a new mark.
