In your original post, y-c-c mentioned that git diff --word-diff does what you want. Did you experiment with using git to provide diffs like vim-diff-enhanced does?

What plugins do you predict will be integrated and shipped with Vim?
I see. I had assumed that including popular plugins or functionalities was part of the usual development workflow. Like netrw or Christian Brabandt enhanced diff functionality. But I guess it is less usual than I thought.
