Also, Vertex has a dark mode by default. I just don't use it myself. But you can check it out yourself by downloading the theme from GitHub. Only make sure to compile from source. For some reason only that way I was able to get a working version. The pre-compiled versions either on GitHub or Pling do not work properly.

  • Why is there so few skeuomorphic (aka non-flat) themes for Cinnamon? Can we do something about it?

I'm using Vertex, which only works if you build it from source from Github. But I took panel buttons from a theme called DeLorean Noir, took tray area from Jet-Gray, and also made the panel non-transparent and increased its brightness (by default it was much darker than the GTK and Metacity parts) for consistence. You can see a screenshot I recently posted here.

Did you manage to find anything? I been searching for almost a year, and the only FULL (as in including GTK and Metacity) theme I was able to find was this. I find it one of the better looking ones too, but not exactly what I'd want.

SASS is a CSS preprocessor that is designed to be used as a standalone preprocessor, or as part of a framework called Compass. SASS for CSS is very similar to CSS, for creating CSS files that are more easily readable and maintainable than traditional CSS files. In the next chapper, we will learn how to use SASS to create a simple CSS file.

Soon after, Chris Epstein, the creator of Compass and co-creator of Sass, forked Brandon’s repository and asked for some help with the design. Being a big fan of Chris’s, Brandon jumped on the opportunity straight away. He pulled out the content, made the theme more generic, and named his creation Octopress.
