🚀 NodeJS + Ts.ED + TypeScript + Clean Architecture Template
Because of this, I decided to create a base template of a REST API created with NodeJS, using Ts.ED as the base framework and TypeScript as the programming language. This template tries to follow the principles of Domain Driven Design and implements a Clean Architecture/Hexagonal Architecture to try to rely as little as possible on the infrastructure and the framework while keeping in mind at all times the language and the needs of the business logic.

The Case for C# and .NET
I'd also love to shout out Ts.ED which is another great Typescript framework that I've written production applications with. It's a natural fit for anyone who loves .NET applications, it's why I chose it.

TypeScript and SQL: Six Ways to Bridge the Divide
The lack of RTTI in TypeScript _is_ definitely a pain but the jump to "must use decorators" and "TypeScript is not a server language" is unjustified. There are many approaches to validation and RTTI with TS. For example, you can generate JSONSchema from your TS types (see https://github.com/danvk/crosswalk for an example of this approach) or you can use a tool like Zod (https://zod.dev/) to declare your schemas as runtime values and derive TS types from those.
Writing your backend in Java or C# comes with its own issues, i.e. you can't share code between backend and frontend.

One thing that worked surprisingly well: codegen TypeScript types from your database and use those in your API schema.
