Timelines via https://github.com/thecdil/timelinejs-template is one specific tool to use. Not one giant timeline holding on to a truth that's important for the record, but many smaller ones where the domain/path describes the purpose of the timeline.

GitHub Pages serves that nicely, and issues / pull requests allow you to curate contribs from many others.

I'm part of the development team for Activity Browser, an open source LCA software. LCA is a method that assesses environmental impacts over the whole life cycle of a product. We can always use some extra hands if you'd be interested to help out! Most of what we do is in Python, we develop both GUI but also have an open source calculation engine that's just available through Python too (Brightway2).

While it is for sure not a career, I am part of a team working on an open source Life Cycle Assessment software called the Activity Browser. It is one of the fastest LCA softwares around with quite some advanced features.

While this might not be exactly what you're looking for, I'm helping develop the activity browser. An open source LCA software (actually only the user interface, built on Brightway 2). We can always use help with coders, and mainly code in Python. If you're interested, feel free to contact me or check out our issues page!

If you even used ecoinvent, this could be an option: You should have received ecoinvent credentials with your SimaPro subscription so you could use the Activity Browser (AB), the downside would be that you need to completely re-implement your system in that case, as the AB doesn't support the SimaPro file format currently.

As you're not sure what software you Uni has, perhaps Excel might be easiest. I develop for the Activity Browser too, which could be useful (and is free and open source!), but we don't currently support LCC and I don't have a whole lot of time to explain in detail how Activity Browser or LCA works, but we have some tutorial videos though. If you're getting serious about doing LCA I'd be happy to help out some time though :).

I'm a developer for the activity browser, an open source UI for the LCA software. Most developers work on it from their work at our University. AFAIK, none of us actually studied computer science or something.
