Deciding between Ploopy Classic and Mini
Discovered ploopy after seeing recommendations for it, and I love the open source design. After much digging (in reddit and github!) I found the "shape test" 3d printing file from a couple years back for the mini. Printed it out and turns out it fits my hand pretty well; similar-ish in overall shape to my current mouse. However, I'd still like to try out the classic just in case and because it has a much better sensor for gaming (don't think I'd do FPS type games on a trackball though).

Ploopy Mini RMB double clicks
I can help you out with that. It'll be much easier if you open up the case. Are you comfortable doing that? It requires a screwdriver. It's really easy to open up, though, I promise. Check the assembly instructions here.

Ploopy Mini tenting wedge
This is phenomenal. If you want to open a PR on the Mini Github with the STL and STEP file, I'll merge it in and you'll get the credit. Alternatively, I can do the merge for you. Either way, great job.

What Trackball will survive the longest? (with proper care of course)
If you're willing to do your own repair work, a Ploopy Classic or Mini will last essentially indefinitely. There's even maintenance kits with spare parts and detailed instructions.

You can look at the Top in 3D here. It might be a bit strange to look at because the buttons are missing, but it should give you a pretty good idea of the shape.
