Idea: script for generating QMK keymap and diagram
Why doesn't usevia.app support these features? Is there something about them that makes them hard to code? Maybe the issues will have relevant threads

Maybe Because Olivia is one of the main developers behind Via?
- In VIA, all these QMK Lighting key assignments are too long...

K8-Pro-ANSI-RGB-v1.5.json gives error in Via? (fixed)
Over at the VIA Github, the devs seem kinda mad at the Keychron guys for using the older V2 standard instead of V3...

Newb; wondering some things about QMK and VIA
Via is part of QMK and offers a GUI to edit keymap on the fly. You are effectively reprogramming part of the firmware, without the need to compile it from scratch. Via has not as many options to customize your firmware as pure QMK and has bugs sometimes (https://github.com/the-via/app/issues/82)
- Is VIA a security vulnerability ?
- Is VIA still closed source ?

VIA update: October 2022
We have added the GPL v3 license to all VIA repositories in https://github.com/the-via.

Idea: script for generating QMK keymap and diagram
I maintain keymap-drawer which has the ability to parse QMK keymaps, but only in the keymap.json format. You can get it from keymap.c using qmk c2json tool but it will be missing layer names and combos (not sure what happens with tap dances, haven't tried).
- Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes

Editable Keymap Image
You could use http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com to manual create one, or automate the process using https://github.com/caksoylar/keymap-drawer
- My experience switching from a 58-key Sofle Choc to a 36-key Chocofi
