Maybe container queries is part of the solution, the other part this tailwind plugin: https://github.com/tailwindlabs/tailwindcss-container-queries – it's listed on the tailwind documentation as official plugin. It sounds like reusing the container styles in mobile should work, as long as there is a container around the content also on mobile views.
