sveltekit-firebase-ssr VS lucia

This repo has a good working example of how they handle and manage with authentication.

This repo will have exactly the examples you'll need to structure your svelte app around Firebase. I use this as a reference a ton and it's helped me out in terms of using it and SSR. :)

What does API helper do? The hook is called every single time anything pings/visits the website. If you want a good example of the API and how specific things work, you can take a look at svelte-firebase-ssr

For Auch: Haven't used it myself but Lucia Auth seems to work.

If you are okay with a bit more control Lucia is a great option.

scrypt: baked into the Node crypto package; this is also a relatively common algorithm. Lucia-auth, a great new authentication library, seems to use this internally when generating passwords.

I am using Lucia Auth for authentication.

I built a starter project for developing a social media app with Sveltekit, Lucia Auth, Prisma and Faker.js. Uses sqlite for prototyping but can easily be changed to Postgres or MySQL.
