Is there any news on turning the progressive web app of Navidrome into a full mobile app?
Why to reinvent the wheel when we already have subsonic api compatible android apps such as subtracks already available?

Music streaming server recommendations
I've started recently to use Navidrome and I'm loving it. To listen to the music on Android I'm using an app called Subtracks, which probably has less features that other more developed apps but it looks gorgeous compared to the rest I've seen and its author is doing a major rewrite of the codebase, so should be getting better.

Shuffle is on on every Spotify playlist
Some bugs have been there for years now like disappearing songs in offline mode. Sometimes I'm not able to play an entire playlist while offline. Spotify is not a reliable option for me. As soon as subtracks supports offline playlists (it's currently WIP), I will switch.

Looking for a well looking music player [android]
Just discovered, very much in development but looks promising: https://github.com/austinried/subtracks
-
Is there any "Spotify-like" self-hosted music streaming software?
I use both. In the web browser, I prefer Navidrome because it's more lightweight. For native mobile client, I use Gelli with Jellyfin and Subtracks with Navidrome. However, I prefer Gelli to Subtracks for its UI and features.

Why do you self-host Music Servers/Music Streaming?
For the client I'm looking at symfonium as it looks like it has android auto support going off of this github list.

What's missing in your favorite music streaming suite?
The most liked client is symfonium which works with several different server implementations. It appears that its dev also tries to bundle the subsonic power to improve the subsonic implementation and tries to prevent a sea of subsonic forks. I did not research about music servers in a while but I'll check it out and add it to https://github.com/basings/selfhosted-music-overview . Thank you guys for your experience and insights! It's really helpful to see what the people love and hate about their setups.

I am writing a free open-source Music Server and Client. What are features missing from Software such as Navidrome PlexAmp, Roon
You can check https://github.com/basings/selfhosted-music-overview to have an idea of the features you can implement. There is also a lot to be done to properly handle multi value tags, artist relationships, etc. Good luck!
