Wireguard so much more stable than OpenVPN
I switched to Wireguard a few weeks back and the stability of the connection is so much better. I test the connections speeds nightly with SpeedTestTracker: here is the result.

sure, if u have a spare laptop, raspberry pi or NAS, u can run speedtest-tracker on Docker.

Unraid only seems to be able to use 20-50% of available internet bandwidth (on 2.5g network)

I've done a very quick research, I think it would be possible with something like mullvad's udp-over-tcp. But yeah, it could be worse than OpenVPN-over-TCP.

Using wireguard at school
Sounds like your school is blocking UDP. You could try udp over tcp (https://github.com/mullvad/udp-over-tcp) or upd2raw (https://github.com/wangyu-/udp2raw) to get around that.
